YBhg. Tan Sri Razarudin Bin Husain @ Abd Rasid (“Tan Sri Razarudin”) has been appointed as a Commission Member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) effective from 1 August 2025 for a period of two (2) years.

He brings over four decades of service in national security and law enforcement, culminating in his role as the 14th Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of Malaysia from 2023 to 2025. He began his policing career in 1982 as a Trainee Inspector and steadily rose through the ranks, serving in various leadership capacities across multiple states including Kedah, Johor, Sabah and Perak. His postings spanned criminal investigations, narcotics enforcement, and special operations.
 
During his tenure as IGP, Tan Sri Razarudin championed significant institutional reforms within the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), with a strong emphasis on human capital development, international collaboration and border security. He was instrumental in elevating police education standards and spearheaded strategic partnerships with international law enforcement agencies, including those in Australia and China. For the first time, under his leadership, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) together with the Ministry of Home Affairs hosted the Asia International Security Summit and Expo 2025 (AISSE’25), further strengthening Malaysia’s role in regional security cooperation. His excellence and dedication in combating drug-related crime earned him recognition from academia, culminating in his appointment as Adjunct Professor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), effective 13 December 2024.
 
With deep expertise in enforcement and public protection, Tan Sri Razarudin’s presence on the Commission strengthens MCMC’s capacity to address the rapidly evolving communications and digital landscape. His extensive experience adds substantial value to MCMC’s oversight of online content regulation, reinforces consumer protection in digital communications, and safeguards national cybersecurity in an increasingly complex and interconnected environment.
 
Tan Sri Razarudin holds a Diploma in Investigation Science from Maktab PDRM and a Master of Social Science in Policing Studies from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, where he graduated as the top student in his cohort.
