The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is pleased to invite all eligible researchers to submit a research proposal(s) under the Digital Society Research Grant (DSRG) and Digital Society Research Grant for Industry (DSRGX) programme.
A. PROPOSAL SUBMISSION PERIOD
The Call for Proposals (CFP) will be open for a period of one (1) month:
- Open: Monday, 2 March 2026; and
- Close: Thursday, 2 April 2026, at 5:00 pm.
B. PURPOSE OF DSRG, DSRGX AND EXPANSION OF FOCUS AREA
The Digital Society Research Grant (DSRG) and Digital Society Research Grant for Industry (DSRGX) are designed to promote the availability of evidence-based research and data on topical issues relevant to MCMC stakeholders, including internal divisions, industry licensees and the four designated industry fora (CFM, MTSFB, Content Forum, Postal Forum). The grants aim to enhance understanding of the digital communications and services landscape within the communications and multimedia (C&M) industry.
C. FOCUS AREA
The DSRG and DSRGX support research across four (4) key focus areas, each addressing specific gap areas:
- Digital Citizenship & Cyberwellness (DCC) – safe, informed, and responsible digital participation.
- Digital Inclusion (DI) – bridging access gaps and empowering underserved groups.
- Future of Work (FW) – workforce transformations and skills for Industry 5.0.
- Sustainability & ESG (SESG) – environmental impact, ethical technology use, and governance practices.
