YBhg. Dato' Sri Dr. Chee Hong Leong

Dato’ Sri Dr. Chee Hong Leong, JP, holds a distinguished career as a senior executive, director, and leader in the Malaysian and international business communities. Commencing his career in 1990, he played a pivotal role in coordinating corporate and annual strategic plans for Leisure Holidays Group and MBf Food Division.
 
From 1992 to 1998, Dato’ Sri Dr. Chee was actively involved in various businesses, serving as CEO of Canary Homes Sdn Bhd and Canary Infoport Sdn Bhd in the design and property development sectors. Subsequently, he joined Tanco Resort Berhad, rising to the positions of General Manager, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Director from 1998 to 2002.
 
In March 2003, Dato’ Sri Dr. Chee joined SYF Resources Berhad, a furniture boards and property development firm, and later became the Executive Director in 2011 until now. The company underwent a reverse takeover exercise in June 2023, leading to its name change to M&A Equity Holdings Berhad, actively involved in financial services, particularly stockbroking and corporate finance.
 
Beside his involvement in M&A Equity Holdings Berhad, Dato’ Sri Dr. Chee is the Non-Executive Chairman of Hextar Industries Berhad that is involved in fertiliser business. Presently, he is also a Board Member of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).
 
Previously, Dato' Sri Dr. Chee has served on the Board of various public listed companies across different industries such as Ho Hup Construction Company Bhd (Construction), Microlink Berhad (Information Technology), SEG International Berhad (Education), Inari Amertron Berhad (Semiconductor), Priceworth International Berhad (Plywood and Timber), Pacific Healthcare Ltd. (Healthcare), Mithril Berhad (Building Materials), Energreen Berhad (Palm Oil), Kairous Acquisition Corp. (SPAC), and Liberty Acquisition Resources Corp. (SPAC).
 
Dato’ Sri Dr. Chee has received numerous awards, including Datuk (DMSM) in 2007, Jaksa Pendamai (JP) in 2011, and Dato’ Sri (SSAP) in 2011. Additionally, he has been actively involved in volunteer positions, serving as Area President of St. John Ambulance Malaysia Selangor KSS since 2013 and as a National Council Member since 2023.
 
Dato’ Sri Dr. Chee received his Bachelor of Engineering (Computer) in 1987 and Master of Business Administration in 1989, both from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. In 2023, Dato’ Sri Dr. Chee received an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration from SEGi University, Malaysia. In October 2024, he earned a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Asia E University, Malaysia.
