JENDELA To Connect Kampung Orang Asli Sg Tonggang To 4G

A new telecommunication tower under the JENDELA initiative was officially initiated today by the Minister of Communications; YB Fahmi Fadzil marking a significant milestone for the Orang Asli Sg Tonggang, Ipoh and nearby community. More than 1,000 community members have benefitted from 4G network coverage provided by operational towers. in response to a significant challenge for rural and Orang Asli communities, this is set to revolutionize the lives of the Orang Asli community by bridging the digital divide.

The telecommunication tower is expected to provide a significant boost to the society’s involvement in Malaysia’s digital transformation. For students, the 4G connectivity enables access to online education platforms, virtual classrooms, and digital learning resources. For entrepreneurs and small business owners, it facilitates e-commerce and the promotion of local crafts and products to a broader market.

“This connectivity is a game-changer for us,” said Wan Alang, as the “Tok Batin” the local community leader. “Our youth can now participate in digital upskilling programs, and we can connect with the outside world like never before”.

The tower’s presence is expected to create stable communication and economic opportunities ensuring the community can sustain and benefit from this digital infrastructure.
